Just a quick word of caution for anyone considering going into Mad Hatter's Gully: altho' the climb is in excellent nick there is currently regular rockfall coming down the gully if the sun is out and hitting the upper slopes where there is a lot of loose, shattered sandstone.
Anything that gets dislodged is funnelling straight down the gully. Might therefore be best to try it on an overcast day at the minute - or make a very early start.
Cheers,
