struggling to make the leap
Hi guys, I have been climbing for about 9 months now and been moving through the grade nicely but I cant seem to make the transition from climbing high 6's to the 7's. I have on sighted a few 6C+'s and boulder at v6/v7 but yet the magical 7a still eludes me! I was wondering if any of you guys had the same trouble progressing up to a new number grade. I come really close a couple of times but it could be down to a mental block / putting too much pressure on my self or maybe i need to get a solid foundation of proper technique?

I'd guess you need to redpoint some harder stuff first, using proper redpoint tactics. Try a F7b over a period of weeks if nessecary.
