Anyone been out this week? What are the conditions like? Also any recommendations for a good easy tour?

In reply to peas65: Heavy rain & gales forcasted late Saturday, looks like the beginning of the end.

In reply to peas65:

It was very good last Saturday! Best cover is on N and W facing slopes: south facing terrain very patchy below 900m.

A couple of easy tour suggestions:

Ski car park - Loch Vrotachan - Carn a' Gheiodh - Coire Clachach - Baddoch Burn - Loch Vrotachan - car park.

Car park at Sean Spittal Bridge (2.5km N of the ski area) - Sron na Gaoithe ridge - Cairn of Claise - Carn Tuirc - car park. Normal descent is "Turkey Gully", the stream line on the NW side of Carn Tuirc but a direct descent W from the summit was in brilliant nick last weekend. You can easily add an out-and-back to Glas Maol if you want.

In reply to peas65: Haven't been out for a few days but we are trying to keep a regular(-ish) blog of touring conditions around the Glenshee area if anyone is interested: http://ski-touringscotland.blogspot.se/
