Guidebook writing software?

Anyone that has been involved in guidebook writing/editing/publishing, what software did you use? I am looking to do something similar but unrelated.

Write it in Microsoft Word and set in with Adobe Indesign

In reply to John2: No, Adobe InDesign is now king (I'm not sure they're even making Pagemaker anymore ... I used to use it until about 1997 ) It incorporates all the best features of both Pagemaker and Quark Express. I used InDesign for 'Fiva' and our forthcoming American publisher is delighted to be using our standard InDesign files.
