“A team of lawyers from the Department for Transport are raising money in memory of their colleague, Jack Wooding, who was tragically killed whilst climbing in the Cairngorms in January 2013. Jack was passionate about climbing and other outdoor activities. He died very young, aged only 29 years old, but he lived every day to the full and touched many people with his charm and enthusiasm. His work colleagues have organised two memorial hikes to raise money in Jack's memory to raise money for Climbing Out, a charity that runs residential outdoor activity programmes for young people facing life changing illness or injury, including those in recovery from cancer. So far they have raised over £1900. They hope to bring something good out of this terrible tragedy and believe that supporting Climbing Out in order to help children suffering from injuries or illnesses is very fitting.”
