Hi, I'm planning a trip down to Stanage this summer holiday with a mate. However because we are both 17, the North Lee's campsite won't let us stay unsupervised and the hostel at heatherstage is too expensive for us.

Is there anywhere else or somewhere it is acceptable to wild camp?

thanks

ps bearing in mind we don't have a car

In reply to anomm: Wild camp in Robin Hoods Cave. I wouldn't bother lighting a fire as that almost always guarantees a visit by the Park Ranger? Game Keeper? Beardy chap. Nice bloke if your polite to him.

Have a fantastic time.

In reply to anomm: robin hoods cave is the classic one, take your rubbish away with you and don't light fires.

In reply to Cwallace: cheers, never been to stanage so don't actually know where that is - any google maps reference?

also just phone the hostel and that's fully booked (once again because we're under 18 we would have to have a seperate room so it makes things complicated)

In reply to anomm:

I highly doubt a campsite will ID you... Just claim to be 18 and have done with it?
