In reply to robcaesar: Previous suggestions are all good. As the better crags in the Lakes tend to be up mountains and big then there aren't many good single pitch options. If the weather's warm then Kern Knots on Gable is excellent. Most routes are 2 pitches, around 40m so could be done in one pitch with a 60m rope.
Also Gouther Crag near Shap has route around 40m length.
In Borrowdale Seargeant Crag Slabs is really good around HVS, and Woden's Face has single pitch routes around S - VS but not much variety.
There are also single pitch routes on Upper Swirl crag near Thirlmere.
