Hi, I'm looking to buy some lightweight collapsible walking poles... I mainly want them for walking downhill. They need to be really light ( and collapse small) or I know I won't take them with me.

They also need to have a basket attachment (or I can fit a basket) which is effective in snow so I can use them for off piste snowboarding along flat sections.

One potential make which looked good was Fizan, can anyone give me any advice on if this will be suitable?

thanks

In reply to maxsmith: Have you looked at the black z series poles?

Really solid feel to the pole and you still get small amount a leeway with adjustment too

In reply to maxsmith: thanks I will have a look, it seems like the first guy is very keen on his poles!
In reply to maxsmith: I'd suggest Pacerpole carbons, as reviewed here: http://www.ukhillwalking.com/articles/page.php?id=5431

I know of people ski touring with them so you might get on OK with the unusual handle for snowboarding. While for walking, it's the handle that makes them so good.
