Minimalist approach shoe/running shoe

Can anyone suggest a minimalist approach shoe for scrambling, via ferratas, hiking on paths and rock (no mud baths)?

I have been wearing Merrell Trail Gloves and I really like the way there is no padding or stiffness so you can smear on the rock. I have been wearing them for everything but they are pretty much trashed after one scree slope too many so I am planning to get another pair. But although the shape is ideal for running because they have a wide toe box, it means I can't stick my toes into pockets. So I was wondering about keeping the Trail Gloves for running and finding something that laces further down the foot for my summer trip to Italy. But the approach shoes I was shown in a shop have big chunky soles and I find being closer to the ground helps mitigate my total lack of balance and coordination

Any suggestions?
