Morning,

Just wondering how Insurance stands, if your an ML and you are taking people out and getting paid - do you need public liability insurance or whatever or do you just say that its worth the clients having there own insurance?

Thanks

In reply to Boulderdash86: I'd advise getting your own professional liability cover from someone like Perkins Slade.

In reply to Luke01: You need public liability insurance. Even if the client is insured, if it's your fault their insurers will go after you to recover what they've had to pay out.
In reply to Boulderdash86: if you are a member of the MTA you can get their insurance for around 169 quid. That will covet you for the remit of the ml. Even if you are working as a freelance for other companies, it is advised that you get cover especially if you have a mortgage etc. For the record, I went with the BMC insurance (underwritten by the same insurers as the MTA) as it covers you for more things like gorge walking but it is double the price.
