Just wondering if anyone has done any of these events? I'm pretty green when it comes to trail running competition, done 3 road marathons and plenty of halves. Was thinking the 10 mile one at Rivington in November might be a good intro to this kind of thing?

In reply to halroberts87: if it talks about "hard climbing" you're effectively into fell running territory, and if you go to the FRA website there are many that are much cheaper

In reply to halroberts87: Just had a look at the route. I know the area fairly well. There is no real hard climbing on the 10 mile route. The bulk of the route is on hard packed trails, there is very little off road running. If you want to just have a go at a trail race, then this would be fine, but if you want to do some fell races, there are better races out there around that time of year.
