Looking at the pants for ski touring, has anyone used them with a ski boot? The ankle looks a bit narrow...

My current salopette ankle cuffs don't find over my ski boots which is a real pain so quite keen to hear how people have got on with them.

From experience they're long and slim fit. My missus can't get hers over her snowboard boots.

I have the original dark grey model, size XL. They are relatively long, dunno about slim, but I just looked at the leg opening and I don't think it would fit over my Scarpa Lasers, at least not well. Good pants though.

I agree. Good pants but definitely not designed to fit over ski boots. Typical Rab, great quality and long slim fit!!!!

Anyone got a recommendation for a good pair of trousers that fit over a ski boot? Ideally not so flared and baggy that they are a trip hazard when wearing crampons and would also like either thigh vents or 2 way zips like the stretch neo has for keeping cool on the ascent.

Have a pair of Mammut Base Jumps which are great for spring/fair weather touring but after a bit more protection for less kind conditions.

I ski in these, nice fit around the bottom, brushed fleece lining so offer some warmth, these with a 260 pair of ice breaker tights do the job pretty well. I can't see to find them on the TNF uk site anymore though!

Mountain Equipment have a new Neoshell pant they say is designed for ski touring. It specifically mentions having a ski-boot suitable cuff.
