Is anyone using Final Cut Pro X?

What are you using it on and will the following be powerful enough for it?

Apple 27-inch iMac (which I already have). With....

Intel Core i5 Quad-core 3.2GHz Processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 675M, OS X Mountain Lion.

Other option is to go for a Mac Pro with all the bells and whistles but they are a bit pricey.

I know FCP will run on the iMac but interested to hear what others think.

Should be fine.

I am on a MacPro but older with dual 2.8GHz Quad-cores, and 12 Gig of RAM. Not sure about the video card but I doubt that will be the problem.

I would upgrade to OSX Mavericks since it seems no slower, and is a better system. By far the most painless new Apple OS upgrade in recent years.

Live rendering can be slow but it is much better than the old FCP 7 or 8 or whatever it was.

Thanks for that.

How slow is the live rendering? That will be a important factor for me.

Doubt it. You can continue editing and it just doesn't render, then when you pause it starts.

I haven't had any problems with it since the pauses are usually welcome, but I haven't been doing any very complex edits.
