I've noticed a lot the coniferous trees have turned yellow/brown around Hathersage. Is this normal or is it some malaise?

Are they larches?

In reply to kedvenc72: No, idea. Just looking across the landscape from a distance at various woods.

In reply to kedvenc72:

Well, put it this way, larches are coniferous but not evergreen!

In reply to malk: lol nice one. How could I have forgotten that!

In reply to Dave Garnett: Funnily enough while surfing the top 10 photos (trying to avoid work) came across the photo of autumnal larches. As you say they are not evergreen! feel a tad happier now.

Mind you there is a disease spreading rapidly up here that is killing off thousands of larches, which caused their leaves to turn yellow and fall off in the summer.
