can anyone give me an educateed guess as to whether lochnagar is woerth a look tomorrow for easy mixed? central buttress, southern sector ribs for example. thanks.

Bit late for you but not aware of anyone climbing there recently. SAIS blog and reports have good info - http://saisscairngorms.blogspot.co.uk/. Appears to be lots of snow in the coire and approaches to any of the buttresses steep and prob risky. Maybe southern sector is possible. Will be in for a look on monday but keeping an open mind RE climbing/building snow men. Let us know if you were in today.
