Hi all,

My friend is trying to get a visa for Canada and the process has apparently changed from last time she did it. She is looking for the date of the IEC process for 2014.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

First two rounds have closed. The final one is sometime after the new year, although they havent specifed a date yet. Good luck!

Last year my son spent the better part of 6 months trying to get a temporary work permit. They consistently dicked him around, changed dates for when he would be allowed to apply and were generally massively unhelpful. He spent a fair bit of money putting in the various documents with fees. In the end he gave up in disgust as it was impossible to book flights or make any definite plans in the face of endless ambiguity/uncertainty.

Not sure if your son was trying to get a work permit before he had a job but it is easier if it is the other way round. Also, there are a number of provincial programs which can help.

I don't have any experience with the IEC process but I do with the LMO process.
