Basically as per the title.

Phoenix slightly cheaper, slightly higher impact force, smidge lighter.

Thoughts please :-D

Having used both extensively i can say that the ice lines prob have the edge on ice (a bit more stretch and slicker, smoother running)and the phoenix has the edge as more of a multi purpose rope, have used mine for ice, mountain routes and cragging(a very very hard wearing rope).

If only for use for ice i would buy the icelines, for ice plus anything else i would say the phoenix is the winner.

As a general rule I have found over the years that Beal ropes handle well but Mammut rope last longer.

What colour do you like best?!!

I went with the Beal Ice Line (orange), partly due to the Unicore construction (can still use it to escape if sheath damaged), partly due to wanting a nice bright rope for winter work, and partly because a tenner isn't worth factoring into the equation of how much my life is worth!!!
