Were off canoeing in Austria end of june and im after breaking the drive up with a day climbing on route somewhere.

Ive had a quick look at the logbooks but peoples experiences are better. We will drive through Germany down to Austria so after any ideas where to stop for some lowish grades sport climbing <6b type level.

Thanks

Steve

Frankenjura would be one obvious option. Lovely scenery, immaculate rock, loads to go at, excellent beer. Bolt spacing tends to be a bit old school in the <6b range though.

(Nassereith otoh makes most climbing walls feel terrifyingly runout. As do many moden Austrian sport climbing areas. Is however in all other respects crap compared to the 'jura)

Depends which way you're driving

Going via Belgium, Luxembourg & the sandstone near Strasbourg could be good options
Frankenjura may be too far out of the way

Have a play with Google maps
