DVD Burning

I'm trying to burn a file created in windows movie maker via third part burn software on to a dvd. The burn process seems to work but when I put the dvd back into the pc all that appears in the media player is a tv programme which I recorded about three years ago and I can't find it location on my pc.

Can anyone help please.

is it a dvd rw? Just wondering if youve already burnt that on?

other thing to check is if the software is actually burning to the disc and not set to do a test burn / simulated write?

what 3rd party software is it? Nero is usually pretty reliable

Yes it's RW but I've erased and formatted it.

CDBurnerXP. I can't load my old version of NERO which I had on Windows XP. Now got Windows 8

Not sure what the problem is, but I've always used DVDFlick for burning my DVD's.

It's free, and has never once let me down. Worth a shot maybe? Plenty of instructions out there on the net for it, it's really not that hard to use.
