Evening all.

Staying in Edinburgh tomorrow night with a work colleague and looking for a decent place to eat. Preferably central and not Indian (never a good idea before an early morning meeting). Budget up to £80-90 for two with wine.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

shame you said not indian because if you ve not eaten at mother india in glasgow or edinburgh you are missing a treat, cant say i ever had any of the negative after affects normally associated with cheap and cheerfull from eating there.

This does look very good but the 'no Indian food' rule is the work of my colleague. She's made it quite clear no spiciness is allowed. Thanks.

Angels With Bagpipes is pretty good, but at the top end of your budget.
In reply to Axel Smeets:
So many to choose from but it does depend on where your staying for travel, what your really looking for in type of venue and type of food. For starters all central within you price range:

http://chinatownedinburgh.com (Chinese)

In reply to Axel Smeets: I'd recommend Cafe Marlayne - there's two branches, one on Fishmarket Close off the Royal Mile and the other on Thistle Street on the New Town. We prefer the Thistle Street one but they're both good.

One of my favourite and very well situated is the grain store on Victoria street.
