Has anyone tried the Black Diamond BDV hoodie? I've been looking for a lightweight hooded pull on softshell jacket for a while now, ideally with elasticated cuffs, for summer alpine and general UK use and this seems to fit what im looking for.
I have never used the Schoeller fabric before though, how does this perform? I assume it would be more breathable than powershield? My current jacket is Powershield and weighs around 400g, but it gets a little warm in the summer, so I have been looking for something more breathable, but with a good amount of weather protection, in the same weight range. Is the Schoeller on the BDV likely to be more breathable? How weather resistant is this fabric?
I have just bought an Arcteryx Gamma SL Hybrid, which seems good, but maybe not as protective, does anyone know how the Schoeller fabric on the BDV would compare to the Gamma SL, or to Powershield lite?
