I'm on the lookout for what seems to be an impossible combination for trousers for late season ski touring:
Not black - the lighter colour the better
Softshell
Have some kind of thigh vents
Ideally a woman's fit

Suggestions please....

I use the mens version of these: http://www.ellis-brigham.com/products/mountain-equipment/womens-g2-ultimate...

I liked them so much, that when I near enough wore out the first pair skiing and climbing, bought another pair.

I'm not sure if the newer Patagonia Alpine Guide pants have thigh vents - mine do, but they're not mentioned on the current description. And whilst not black, the grey isn't a vast improvement.....

I feel your pain....took me a ridiculously long time to find women's softshell trousers with internal gaiters!

If by spending very little money you can deal with them being black, then the Simond ones from Decathlon are very good. They do a women's version as well as mens and they have thigh vents. I was ski touring in mine last May and they were perfect.

I don't know whether they do a woman's version but I use Rab Exodus pants. Light tan colour, thigh vents and ankle patches. I find them very wind proof and comfortable. The only down side is in the men's version the leg length is to long and they only do one length.
