I heard that's what the Sherpa are trying to do. End the circus for a whole year.

Sherpa are not a homogenous unit. From my understandin, there is a whole range of thoughts, ideas and feelings occurring on the mountain on the standard route on the Nepal side. Business as usual in Tibet.
