Maryport Wave Centre are thinking of installing an indoor caving "experience". Sounds OK but will it be profitable? Are there any in traditional caving districts? Sounds more expensive to build than their climbing wall did.

The few I have been in have been much further away from real caving than climbing walls are away from trad.

A lot of climbing walls in climbing areas and non climbing areas make a lot if cash flow from inexperienced climbers, learning, training, party's etc - it might be the same for caving. And there are probably not that many active cavers that are into artificial caving, so proximity to real caving probably dosent count for much.

Kibblestone Scout Camp had an artificial Cave made of plywood in a disused swimming pool. It was horrific. Far more claustrophobic than the real thing due to the heat and humidity that built up. Not something I'd pay to experience again.
