Hello. Looking for a crag in reasonable driving time (2 - 2.5 hours) of Reading Berks with some easyish routes - we currently climb 6a indoors. maybe Symonds Yat? A crag with Sports climbs might be a good start - Ban y Gor (?), but are there enough easy routes?
Cheers, Chris

You might be interested in meeting other climbers - a chance to share lifts:

It's probably better to get used to driving further and spending a weekend.

Give Portland a go, I think that should fit in with the <2.5 hours from Reading.

Loads of crags, loads of routes, and most is sport. Plenty below 6a.

As mentioned, Portland for sport.

For easy trad routes it becomes a bit of a trek, but the Wye Valley is probably a good shout. Swanage does have some good easier routes too on the smaller crags, but a little more committing.

Swanage is 2 hours and Portland 2.5 from reading. Both easy day trips. Avon and wye valley are closer at about 1.5 hours but lack low grade quality sport but have great trad.

Wye Valley is a touch over an hour from Reading....

Either you drive a lot faster than me, or a lot slower. Can't tell your meaning from your post!

There are enough decent Sports routes at Ban y Gor to keep you entertained for a day in the F5 - F6a ish range, try these:
Muddy Waters 6a
The Fat Controller 5+
The Pink Punter 5
Who do you think I am? 6a
Ugooloo 6a
Darkside 5
That Historic Reach 4
Morning Winpenny 5
The Chubby Brown Syndrome 6a
The Gruesome Toothsome 5
A little Stiff'ner 6a+
