Just wondering what sort of length rope I should take for the bolted stuff at St. Bees? A lot of them only seem to have 3 or 4 bolts but I get the feeling you're meant to either go bold or supplement them with some trad gear. Will I get away with a 40m rope or do I need to lug my 60 along?

Don't remember it being bold. There's only a few bolts because that's all there's room for. 40 sounds plenty for most stuff.

Cool, thank you.

The guide says that the routes rise to a maximum length of 25 metres; some of the good routes are on Apiary wall, which is one of the bigger areas, but there are a lot more routes to go at on the rather shorter areas.

Just a heads up, a lot of the routes suffer with seepage, but there should be enough dry ones to keep you busy. There has been some re-bolting, but many still have 1 bolt lower offs usually the "pig tail" type. The tat lower off on "dreaming of red rocks" was replaced last month. I would take your bouldering mat as the bouldering is superb.
