Anybody used the bobble water filter? Would they be any good for filtering water in the Pyrenees or Alps, or even for taking the chlorine taste from treated water?
thanks

They are designed to filter tapwater. So i wouldn't use it to filter water from streams with it. As for treated water, well it is a carbon filter, so it should take out (some of) the chlorine.

The 'Sawyer mini filter' or the 'Water to go' filter might suit you better.

A vitamin c tablet takes the chlorine taste out (ascorbic acid) but it also stops the chlorine killing stuff, so you have to let it do it's job first.

The A Level chemist in me thinks this works as the Cl- ions bond with the H+ in the vitamin c and makes a salt (which precipates out) and water.
