I think the Ti Jetboil is discontinued. Probably for a good reason... Ti doesn't conduct heat very well, so, if the HX is also Ti, I doubt if it will work very well...

Worth playing with the 'volume control'. Certainly never set the thing to '11' (unless you're a reviewer trying to find something you can measure easily, even if that measure is, to
most people, meaningless)...
Tom Beasley posted some interesting figures about fuel use and boil times with gas stoves at BPL. I find Tom's postings to be well thought-out and well researched.

He shows that if you boil a litre of water faster than 12 minutes, you're probably wasting fuel. The exact figures will obviously depend on the particular stove & pan setup, and conditions, but the general principle holds; don't piss heat up the side of the pan to get the 'fastest boil'. If you can't hold your hand at the side of the pan, then your stove is probably putting out more heat than the pan can usefully absorb, and the excess is wasted.
