Does anyone know roughly when the new guide is coming out?

I believe that a Climbers' Club guide to Dartmoor & the Dewerstone is planned for 2016 but no idea about a new version of South Devon & Dartmoor.

South Devon is currently being compiled as a stand alone guide. No publication date as yet.

Unfortunately these things take time. I can confirm that myself and a team of dedicated locals are hard at work. I'm afraid we are talking years rather than months as it has to fit in to the Climbers Club financial planning and publishing schedule. The upside is that the longer it takes the better researched it will be.

The same is true of the North Devon & Cornwall guide. Over 400 new routes climbed since the last edition, many of them future classics at their grade, even whole new crags discovered,but each one needs checking. During the recent fine spell I estimate that over 50 new routes right across the grade spectrum have been climbed, many not even recorded as yet. However all is not lost. The last definitive guides can often be purchased relatively cheaply and most of the new route descriptions are cross referenced with existing climbs, but you will have to trawl through the various local and national websites such as http://www.javu.co.uk or http://www.climbers-club.co.uk/category/new-route/ for the information. You will also be helping, if you do this and repeat some of the new routes, by commenting in the logbook section of UKC or contacting the local teams.
