The gorge is closed while the work is going on but the last I heard they were hoping to have it done by Christmas. You can still get to Maki over the notch. They have amped up the guards in the tunnels while the work has been going on so access that way is often out now. There are rumours that we will still be able to climb off the new walkway and that there may be a new via ferrata, but until it is done no-one knows for sure. There are quite a few new sectors around in Chorro now and Bernabe Fernandez has put up six + multi pitches up the Frontales ridge so still plenty of amusement to be had. If you want to know the latest info on the Camino progress your best bet is to contact Tom or Roy at the Olive Branch or via the El Chorro Bolt fund.
