Come along to Grindleford for our next gathering of Peak District climbers and walkers, to discuss the latest issues and get involved in the work of the BMC.

Date: Wednesday 28 January 2015, starting at 7.30pm
Venue: The Maynard, Main Road, Grindleford S32 2HE


The area meetings are run by volunteers and are your chance to join in with debate and influence decisions about what happens in the Peak District as well as the rest of the country.

All are welcome. Food will be provided.

BMC ambassador Steve McClure will be providing entertainment and inspiration on the evening, as he recounts his journey from early childhood encounters on the North York Moors right up to his most recent cutting edge sport routes.

Copies of Steve’s autobiography, Beyond Limits will be available to purchase on the night.

Since the newsletter was produced, Henry says there's been an important update on the situation at Stanage. Come along to the meeting to hear all about it.

Steve's talk was well worth it. Quite impressed nearly 40 folk braved the road conditions in all that snow.

The extra Stanage news was we almost lost the campsite but for strong lobbying from the BMC access workers and other interested parties. the officers working for the Peak Park on Stanage seem to be listening but some of the commitees above them and the leadership still seem detached from the idea that these areas were gifted to the park partly for their recreational benefits and the campsite is a key part of that for some.
