Adam Ondra trying Dreamcatcher, 9a, Squamish, Canada, 3 kbAs the last Ondra report was admittedly confusing to say the least, I figured the man himself should help me straighten things out a bit...

Spain was great! I spent there just 5 days, 2 days climbing in Siurana, two days climbing in Santa Linya.
I tried Sachi Stoking the Fire with Sach, it went...

These top climbers must have massive carbon footprints.

A remarkably calm fall from Ondra!

The dream was about the flash, not just the route. He dreams performances, not just routes.

From the video though, it looks like he fell because a foot popped... Quite calm reaction, but you could see he was disappointed...

From an armchair view, he doesn't look on his usual form. Conditions were poor, and he said he wasn't in great shape in Spain, but he doesn't look to be climbing as smoothly as usual.

Still such an amazing route - 10 years old, and only 2 repeats still (?)

Great to see a different view as well, love the Sharma video.

He's probably completely knackered after several days of hard climbing followed by a long flight. From his body language, it looks like he accepted defeat a little while before he fell.

Good to see a different method of reaching the rail (no dyno).

It looks like he's bulked up his upper body a fair bit. Natural result of climbing hard and maturing or concerted effort to become more powerful?

Agreed - as soon as he was on the rail, he just looked knackered, which I've not seem him do before.
It's true - he is human!

In reply to Robert Durran:

Totally, he pretty much landed on the ledge with the rope stretch.

Really interesting to view this video of Adam Ondra in the context of shoulder blade control. Any comments from the UKC 'walls and training' gurus?
