Chimera Extension: New 8c link for Ellis Butler-Barker, 4 kb

18 year-old Ellis Butler-Barker has made the second ascent of Brian 8c+ at Anstey's Cove, becoming potentially the youngest Brit ever to climb 8c+.

That is some shockingly lazy bolting in the close up, looks a right mess! If you've got time to bolt, you've got time to cleanup the old ones.

Well done Ellis! There's nothing left for you to do down here now (part from freeing Ferocity and doing the two other longstanding Ferocity Wall projects...). What have you ever done on grit...?

It doesn't look as bad when you see the wall in reality.

But I agree that it's odd having the old Petzls still there after the staples or new Petzls were put in.

In reply to UKC News: isn't Hubble regarded as 9a now? So whether that makes him the youngest/heaviest/longest haired/ wearing shorts/ wearing scarpa etc to climb 8c+ who knows.

Sounds like hardcore work and commitment to training/lifestyle to climb it so thoroughly impressed whatever is decided by the powers that be on 'first' ....
