Sheffield-based climber Alex Barrows has climbed his first 9a - Era Vella (9a) in Margalef, Spain. The 45 metre long route first climbed by Chris Sharma in 2010 is renowned for being the ultimate endurance test and is the most repeated 9a in the world.
In reply to A Longleat Boulderer:
I got less cool. Climbing grade is inversely proportional to coolness.
Plus I got lime green shorts, which buck that trend by 1. Being cool and 2. Making me climb harder
Well, it bloody worked. 'Barrows Law of Inverses'.
Anyway... good work Alex! Looks like a pretty intense line. Long may your success continue- I look forward to more headlines!! Any specific UK hard lines you have in mind?
