Recently bought a 2nd hand edge 705 and thought i would be able to put GPX routes from sites like Bikehike or similar onto it, but get a 'Only 100 points can be used for road navigation' message if I try to use them, do I need to buy one of the routable UK maps micro SD cards to be able to stick any GPX route on the thing and be able to use it, or do I need to use a garmin specific route creator to plan a route that can be put on it?

Have you tried using the reduce trackpoints on bikehike?

I didn't realise it was possible to do that, just found Trackpoint Reduction in the options bit, many thanks for that!

I have found that by using Bikehike and uploading the route as a .tcx file works best with the 705

Will give that a try, too, and have a bit of experimenting with it this weekend.
