Hey guys,

So me and a couple friends have decided to start putting together a series of videos with a few tips and tricks in them and they will primarily be aimed at beginners and improvers. So I figured who better to talk to about them than you lot.

Basically what would you like to know?

A few of our subject matters will be warming up, training and other ways of keeping fit to compliment climbing.

Are these topics you all would find useful and what else might you suggest?

We are boulderers primarily who top rope a lot outdoors, lead indoors and are learning to trad so we can cover a few different things and where our knowledge lacks we 100% have friends who will have the answers for you.

So please do let me know what you would like to learn about =)

I can't wait to hear your suggestions!

Happy climbing xx

Warming up and fitness tips to complement climbing would be appreciated. Plus injury avoidance and management.
Good luck with the video's.

How to select the perfect beanie*

What camera to capture the perfect V3 crux hand slap.

Stopper knot on bowline inline or weird Yosemite style?

When is it too cold to take your shirt off?

Why you just aren't cool, wearing a helmet.

How to work out if instructional videos were made by folk that actually know anything, were simple ego trips, or sneaky wee infomercials trying to redirect you to a wee side businesses.

How to apply chalk

Correct usage of liquid chalk

The ethics of tick marks

Appropriate use of dabs

How to read a guidebook

Outdoor shitting - the ethics

These would make excellent videos for all boulderers to learn from

Jokes about helmet use and it being cool or not are simply not funny. It is inappropriate flippancy over a serious matter.

That real issue is what protects my sarnies when I have to wear it......? Do I eat my lunch before doing anything hard that might require a helmet instead? I feel an overly full tummy is off putting and makes me look fat on photos.
(I'd also like to see pointers on the best size and shape of bread for different models).

What to when you encounter other climbers who don't appear to have a sense of humour

As always guys with a sense of humour but some solid points. We do aim to have a little fun with the videos because truth be told finding that right toilet spot is a dream for us all!!! Not to mention the correct beanie (bouldering specific of course!)

We have in the line up so far:
Stretching
balance
training
intro to trad climbing
different knots
setting anchors
food.... In general we think food is almost more important than a beanie and that is saying something!
And a load of other stuff which hopefully you will enjoy.

We started posting last week under the name Vertical Souls so give us a search on YouTube and we would love some feedback (though do be kind about the quality, that was a learning curve so it will only get better I promise!!!)

Thanks for all the comments guys!

Happy Climbing xx

Uses and abuses of self-referential posts.

"Which is the one, true religion"

"Obesity - reasons why it's just a case of Calories in > Calories out"

"How you can avoid speeding tickets by just obeying the speed limit"

All fairly simple, contention-free issues on UKC.

I'd like to see an information video on how to make an information video so we could all make information videos to show you what we want to see in your information video.are videos still a thing because I don't have a video player so I can't watch your information video anyway, maybe you could make an information dvd but you'll have to post again asking what people would like in an information dvd as this post relates to videos not dvds.
