Have a few days in Coed y Brenin and was going to try and get some bouldering in. Are RAC boulders the closest?

In reply to gregwas:

RAC boulders are quite a way from coed y brenin.

Closest options are probably trawsfynydd or tanygrisiau.

Hello mate,
I tend to agree that RAC is a bit of a trek away (about an hour probably). The bouldering around Trawsfynydd is not far at all and beautifully situated by the lake. If you go a bit further there is loads around Blaenau and especially up behind Tan-y-Grisiau above and below the Stwlan Dam road. There is a nice site that has a guide to the area here:

http://hongian.cymru/

and a printable guide to the Tan boulders here:

I hope you enjoy your time in beautiful North Wales

Tom, that's a nicely produced guide to the Tan boulders, didn't know there was anything there. Have just added it to my list for the first week in September if the weather is ok. Thanks for the post!
