Hi there,

looking for cat 4 glasses for Scottish winter, Cotopaxi, Bolivia, Elbrus, Island Peak and the like. Just tried the Julbo Explorer Spectron which are great but the sides are to long and they just sit too loosely *cry*.

Anyone know of any alternatives in the same quality/price area with shorter sides? Or adjustable ones?

Cheers,
Kat

Do you mean the wing things to stop glare, or the actual arms to go over your ears? If the latter, they can bend on the Explorers for a custom fit

The old bolle glacier glasses had adjustable length ear pieces.

You don't need Cat4 glasses for Scottish winter. And it might depend on whether or not you need prescription specs - you don't make that clear.

However, places like https://www.optilabs.com/ and https://www.rxsport.co.uk/ have been recommended here in the past. Perhaps try asking them direct, and seeing what they recommend?

Cheers guys. Haha. It didn't even occur to me to bend the sides, since I never had such glasses. I've bent them very causiously now and it works. Feel like an idiot. Been wearing glasses since I was a child, but never had glacier ones.

Will still check out those links

PS: They're not only for Scottish Winter, but also for Bolivia, Acon, Island Peak etc.
