Shoes for rocky trails

Any recommendations for a light trainer for running over rocky ground (e.g. welsh 3000s)?

I went up the Carneddau over the weekend in my Trail Rocs and found them a little too soft for the rocky sections plus not amazingly grippy on the damp bits.

I have more or less successfully changed my stride to mid-foot so don't want too much of a heel drop.

It really depends how long you want them to last for. Most of the new shoes are quite soft around the toe box so the 3000ers destroys them.

I used to love the x-talons but even the Peris ripped them to shreads, but for a race I'd always go for them.

Roclites are decent but I found them not too great on the wet.

Have you looked at the sense? again they will get destroyed but almost any lightweight shoe will.

Not much grips wet rock though so dont want for too much on that.

As a general shoe that would last and last I just wore the mudclaw 300s for general training, they would last well, the uppers lasted and had decent grip.

If you can find them the mudrock 290 are excellent but they are discontinued.
La sportivia anaconda are quite tough and low.

Saucony Peregrines might be worth a look.
