Improving the peak of the hood on North Face jackets

Hi,

The North Face waterproof jacket I recently bought has the most useless limp peak on the hood. I read somewhere it is because everyone wears a cap under their hood in the U.S. So it doesn't need a stiff brim?!
Has anyone got any tips for adding some rigidity to the peak? The material is glued together so I can't thread anything inside. I am thinking some stiff but malleable plastic glued to the underside might do it.

Any advice appreciated!

Ok, so some folding and shaping gets it into a reasonable shape again. The problem I think is when it goes in my rucsac it gets bent out of shape and doesn't spring back or immediately change shape when adjusted like a traditional wired peak. Maybe it will bed into the correct shape after a few sessions of being folded?

Thanks for the tip. Just been out in the rain with a cap under the hood. Works really well

Perhaps you could buy some wire and sew it into the hood and seam seal it?
