I'd forgotten what a great ( and influential ) band they were.

Penn was, and still is, one of Rock's great innovators.

Going to Spotify the Hell out of them now.

I saw them live at the Lesser Free Trade Hall, in Manchester, in 1976. They were on just before the Sex Pistols and were fantastic. John Lyndon once confessed that Thatch were the band that he wished the Pistols could have been.

In reply to coinneach: Peter Gabriel pinched their ideas. Without Thotch there'd have been no world music, and where would that leave us when we've got some spare root vegetables and a desire to beat out some tribal percussion?

Banging our heads against a brick wall in the company of some Swedes, that's where. And who would want that?

I bought the anniversary remastered Day of the Triffids last year. An amazing piece. work commitments stopped me going to Africa for the live show, but I made a donation for the sake of the moths.
