I want to see Blanck Mass next Friday at Stereo but my usually reliable gig pal is otherwise occupied. None of my other local friends are much into either gigs or the gigs I want to go to (my other gig pal moved to London a year ago!).

Anyone use meetup.com? There are two gig groups listed for Glasgow. Just slightly wary!

Agreed, I've been to gigs on my own. It isn't quite as sociable, but in the end you're going for the music, not a chat.

Same with the cinema, sure it's good to go with others, but why be scared of going on your own as some are? You go there, sit down, shut up and watch the film. Not exactly social

Well I got a ticket. One friend who might go but she'd either need her ex to take her child or get a child minder. She might also mention it to another friend who I don't want to come (it's complicated!). Better I go alone than that happen.
