I've been hill walking all my life but at only 25 I guess I'm a beginner as my job now is very restricting on my spare time. I was wondering if anyone knew of any walking clubs I could join within the Manchester area. I work 48hrs min per week over 7 days, so it would be good if the club went walking mid week as well as weekend.
The ultimate goal for me is to go to everest base camp next year. So of course I need to train but would also like to make new friends. Also are there any UK clubs which organise treks in the French Alps, I fell in love with the place a couple of years ago. Thank you in advance

Would definitely recommend.

Up here the walks tend to be on a weekend but there's a sub-group for midweek walkers. Anyone is free to post walks so you could always suggest them yourself.

Have you contacted the Ramblers?

There are usually several Branches in any given area and they walk both weekdays and weekends.
