Hi,

I'm up in Glasgow in April/May time to see family.

I'd like to combine this with a run a 10k or 10miler.

Are there any events on in the area? Preferably club races?

If it's early April, the Jim Dingwall 10k at Grangemouth is fast and flat, but not very attractive. The Tom Scott is a nicer 10 miler in Strathclyde Park.

For a bit of day out in May, you could get the boat to Cumbrae and do the Millport 10 miler.

What would the Midge be like that time of year?

If you fancy some sprint training try wearing a Celtic strip in Bridgeton.

Midges shouldn't be a problem at that location at that time of year. The only time I've been bothered by midges at races in Scotland has been when I've been marshalling.
