If you really just want to give it a go and see if you like it then hire some decent gear and go from there. If you'd rather buy then the cheapest way to do it would be to find some second-hand bindings, fit them to one of your pairs of freeride skis and find a pair of second-hand skins that are a reasonably close fit. You can tour perfectly well in downhill boots and yes - your regular poles will do the trick. And you'll have a spare pair of downhill bindings into the bargain. That'll get you going and you'll soon figure out whether you want to spend more (boots probably first?) on more stuff. Maybe you already have transceiver, shovel & probe, too.
