Looking to get a week on the ice on the 13/2 . anybody got any up to date info on either setesdal,alp d'huez or chamonix. Much appreciated. Peter

If you are willing to be more adventurous, a friend was posting brilliant pics of her climb in Lyngen last weekend. The route must be 300 mtrs high, but more impressively its about 100 mtrs wide at the widest point! And of course being up there, there was no one else anywhere near. Only an hour or two from Tromso airport.

In reply to Wiles: I'd agree with that. I was listening to the traffic report at the weekend and all the roads to Senja, Kvaløya were shut or very difficult, a good sign.

Yep, fly to Tromso (Norwegian fly direct from Gatwick at least at some times of year and have decent prices). Rent a car. Google North Norway ice climbing guide (its Nick Harvey's blog that he put together after a couple of trips up there - he is sometimes on UKC). Some info now in the UKC logbooks from places I've been and other have now too.
