Good afternoon!
I'm looking to climb Mont Blanc in June 2016. I'd like to find a companion or two for this trip.
I have good base level fitness and stamina, reasonable altitude experience in the Alps and Patagonia in the summer and likewise experience of Iceland and Scotland in the winter (I'm going for a week's "mountain skills" refresher in the Cairngorms later this month to brush up on avalanche awareness and crampon technique). Last year I ascended and decended 2200m (each way!) in snow in 13 hours to climb Iceland's highest peak, the unpronounceable Hvannadalshnúkur.
I don't have much glacier experience though so I am looking to either:
- hire a guide for Mont Blanc, and find someone else to share the guide with (and the cost)
- or do it self guided, if I can find someone else of a similar level who either has an awareness of glacier traverses or would like to learn with me
Is there anyone out there who would be interested in either of these options and we could discuss?
Thank you
Frances
