Any recommendations on accommodation in Chamonix for end August, early Sept? Stays per night will be sporadic so either digs which can store civvies whilst on the mountain OR basic apartments that can be rented for a week.....

Cheers

I stay at Gite La Tapia in the winter but friends have stayed there during the summer. €20.50 per night for a shared room with bunk beds and use of the communal kitchen, showers etc with free wifi. You can pay extra for Marie (the owner) to do you breakfast.

She lets us store ski gear when we're not there (to save costs on flights) but I think you'll have to email her regarding storing civvi kit when using huts in summer.

Hello,
My flat in Chamonix is going to be free from August 29th.
The cost in the end of August / beginning of September is 150 euros per week. I can
give you more details or pictures if you're interested.
Bien amicalement

Most gites, e.g. Gite Vagabond lets you store your equipment in their storage room.

The biggest event in the valley happening on the last weekend of August, so make sure to book very early for those dates:
