Norway...What to do in late June

Well I've gone and done it again. Cheap flights and an impulse buy mean I am destined for Norway for 10 days in late June. I'm not even sure what forum to post this in. Now all I have to figure out is what I will do and where. I will probably travel with all on my back so hiking with my tent is one option. If I could climb some peaks that would be great and in a place which I can access from public transport.
Another option is to look for a partner and have an alpine type trip or maybe some rock routes (at the lower end of easy).
I know there are so many many different possibilities but and suggestions which I could research would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you flying to, and would you consider renting a car?

In reply to wbo:

Flying into Rygge. Car hire would be prohibitive on my own. With others probably

Conditions can be a bit all over the place at that time of year, so keep an eye on the weather and webcams before you go and try to have a range of options lined up. You could plausibly be doing alpine snow routes, low level rock climbing in the valleys or hunkering down in your tent waiting for the weather to go away.

I was in the north last June and didn't do anything I had planned to but still had a good climbing holiday.

Thanks for that. I may not go that far north but we will see. I know things depend a lot on the weather and conditions etc. We will see what comes. A great blog link by the way .

Just a suggestion:
whatever you do, bring mozzie spray & Itch relief and buy mozzie spirals.

& Have fun!
(Mozzies in Norway have managed to sting/bite me through a pair of Jeans, a feat no other mosquito has so far repeated with me, although some serious contenders in the tropics had it easier, since I was not wearing jeans but light linen pants)

It was good. Given the weather forecast we decided it would be a success if we managed 3 decent routes, and we beat that handily. Lofoten is an excellent place, and those hills near Narvik are just outstanding.

I am still slightly disappointed we didn't get up to Lyngen or Kvaloya though.

Hi,

I posted this reply in a different thread, it might be useful to you:

Happy to hook you up with more suggestions. I'm planning on doing some of the Rosendal Alps ridge lines, like this one:

Thanks for the reply. Great ideas there. I will PM you, Stephen

In reply to goatee: those routes in Rosendal look fantastic , but not especially trivial, especially as you pretty much start from sea level. It will also be hard to get to on public transport I suspect, but I can have a quick look. I drive to them
