Can anyone confirm whether La Fourche at the foot of the Kuffner Arete has blankets or not.

Thanks RN

Two years ago there was a limited number of blankets and some very thin, grubby mats to lie on. Neither did much good. If I went there again I'd take a v light sleeping bag or a bit of cheap sleeping mat (the sort tesco sell for £2.99).

Put another way, it was cold in the box/ hut and we just got up and started to keep warm. It was July.

Similarly, last time I was there, it was so full, we just carried on...

There were blankets when we went a few years ago. We arrived early (around midday) and nabbed blankets and a sleeping position in the beds. Fine for us.

Was there last September. Blankets there for all bunks. We had it to ourselves though

Thanks for that. Might take a light bag and a mat as you suggest and leave the mat for the next poor sod.

Heading for the kuffner again, I'd be inclined to go from the cosmiques or Torino or bivi and get straight up onto the ridge. Didn't like the approach to the hut at all when it was warm. Makes for a long day, though.
